I could only think of the moments we spent together at the lake, away from the public eye. |

—Prince James, The Swan Princess and the Dire Tree |
Swan Lake is one of the locations visited in the eleventh Dark Parables game, The Swan Princess and the Dire Tree. The name refers to both the lake itself, as well as the area immediately surrounding it.
Swan Lake lies within the Dire Tree in the center of the Swan Kingdom and does not have a real-world counterpart. The lake itself is based on Swan Lake from the Russian ballet of the same name.
History[]
It is unknown when the lake was created. It was possibly created at the same time as the Dire Tree. Sometime after the Swan Guard was formed, a prison was built at the bottom of the lake. The prison was built under the lake to discourage escape. Even if a prisoner freed themselves from their bonds, they risked drowning in the lake. At an unknown time, the Force Crystal fell into the lake. The barracks where the Swan Guard are located near the lake. Across the lake is the Swan Palace, the residence of the Swan Prince/Princess, and the Goddess Flora. When the Detective visited Swan Lake, she used the Force Crystal on the corrupt Swan Princess. This caused her to drop the Three Artifacts of Floralia. Presumably, the artifacts are still at the bottom of the lake as there is no mention of them being brought back to the surface. However, since the Swan Guard does bring artifacts up from the lake from time to time, the Artifacts of Floralia could be rescued.
